Concert Program Note
Katia Beaugeais’ Sounds of Bondi Beach (2023) for saxophone and guitar was composed for French Duo – Jean-Pierre Baraglioli and Bruno Camhaji – for their 2023 Japan tour.
This piece is inspired by the beautiful sounds and colours of Sydney’s most famous beach: Bondi Beach. The soprano saxophone and guitar play a range of special atmospheric sound effects portraying Australia’s blue ocean sea waves, golden sands and seagulls.
